Piggyback Loans

A piggyback loan is a second mortgage that is funded concurrently with a new first mortgage. The reason you would split your mortgage into two would be to avoid paying private mortgage insurance (PMI) or to keep your first mortgage within the conforming loan limit. A lot of customers utilize a piggyback second mortgage when putting 10% down to purchase a home.
